Slideshow Revision #2

video

Revised version, I didn't include someone in the other one.  Thanks for pointing that out to me.  Sorry.

Also, check on YouTube under ADN slideshow Fall 2008 2, at www.youtube.com/sedalynn
Might be better cause you can view full screen.  It's a little blurry because I had to reformat it from powerpoint to a video file so that I can upload it here and on youtube for all of you to see, but the original I copied for the pinning ceremony will be of much better quality.

This is subject to change, however.  So please keep that in mind.  :)

Otherwise, Enjoy....And also, I've done my best to include everyone.

To Get a Copy of Slideshow

Hi Everyone,

On Monday, if you'd like--bring your flash drive or a blank CD to get a copy of the slideshow.  I'm going to save it in powerpoint version for you, not the video that I posted on here or YouTube. And I'm bringing my laptop to do that.  Flash drives are preferred, it's faster and more convenient for me.  Having it in ppt. version is better because the pictures are clearer and of better quality.  There'll be the same pictures, I even added a few more of some folks I didn't see too often in the previous one I made.  The only difference is probably length and transition of the slides.

I have the ATI exam that starts at 0730 and I'll probably be done with it by 0830, then I will have a two-hour break and start the final at 1030-12ish.  All on campus.

Toy Drive for Family Ties...

The Student Nursing Association will be bringing toys for the children at Family Ties.

Donations
If you are interested in helping a child in need have a better Christmas, please bring a new toy to the Nursing Office. Family Ties will also accept lightly used items. The children range in age from infants to pre-schoolers.

The SNA would like to collect at least 25 toys
The toys would be given to the children but any large items (like wagons or tricycles) would stay at Family Ties for all the children to use.

We will be collecting toys until December 17th. Please do not wrap these gifts. Family Ties personnel need to see each gift before distributing it. Just bring your donated items to the Nursing Office and there will be a large box to deposit them in.

Here comes Santa Claus!
SNA has arranged to have a Santa Claus show up at Family Ties on December 18th at around 9:30am to hand out candy canes and pose for pictures with the kids. Santa could use a few more helpers!

Volunteers needed on December 18
If you are interested in attending that day, please call Angela Aistrup at
209-477-6686, or contact her at aaistrup@sbcglobal.net.

Come on down, your help is welcome!

Some Pictures...

Friday, November 14, 2008

Thank you for the pictures!

Hello Everyone,

Vanessa and I would like to thank you for taking your time to send us pictures.  Greatly appreciated.  I do notice that there are still some of you who are not in any of the pictures at all and some of you have done your best to provide me with the pictures of those fellow students. However, I can't guarantee that all of you will be included in the slideshow because obviously if I don't have pictures of you, then I don't have anything to work with.  Slideshow should be ready for preview by early December.  And no more pictures..by the end of tomorrow.  Thank you and enjoy your weekend!

Last Call for Pictures for Slideshow...

Vanessa and I are putting together pictures for slideshow and today, as we did a run through of the pictures we're using so far...we realized that it is really not enough.  Meaning that the pictures that I've collected isn't covering all 80 of us in the graduating class, only about 60% of the class.

So, as a final reminder, I would like to encourage you to bring your cameras out into clinical setting..or lecture and start snapping pictures and e-mail them to me if you can.  Otherwise, the pictures in slideshow will be of the same people over and again.  I know you don't want to see that because this ceremony is a celebration of all 80 of us before we part our separate ways; and together, we have accomplished a great goal in life--please do what you need to and what you can.  Thank you!

Deadline again is Friday, November 14th--If I don't have your CD of pictures or a message in my inbox with your pictures by then, nothing else after that!!

E-mail pictures to me: sedalynn24@sbcglobal.net  OR to Vanessa S.: vsalango@yahoo.com

Deadline for Pictures for Slideshow

Hello All,

Deadline for your pictures to be incorporated into the slideshow is Friday, November 14th.  If you have less than 6 pictures, you can e-mail it to me.  If you have more than that please put it on a disc.  I have gotten a lot of pictures from some of you already..thanks for that.

On another note, I was told that the VN and PsychTech Students are going to decide on the final songs we've chosen.  In other words, we don't know whether the songs we voted on will be used or not, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that.

Have a great weekend and hope the start of your new and final rotation went smoothly!

Final Results for Songs...

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for your votes today.  I'd like to make an announcement that the voting session for songs for pinning ceremony is now officially closed.  The final results for songs are as follows:

#1) Viva La Vida by Coldplay (instrumental)  24 votes--I have gotten many suggestions to use this one as our opening music, which makes sense to me also because it is upbeat

#2) I Can See Clearly Now by Jimmy Cliff  16 votes--This one can be our walking-out music

#3) Upside Down by Jack Johnson  14 votes--I can combine this song with song #4 (because they almost tied) for slideshow because they are only about a little over 3 minutes each..giving us approx. over 6 minutes for slideshow.

#4) Time of Your Life by Green Day 13 votes

#5) Waiting on the World to Change by John Mayer  12 votes
#6) Time of My Life by David Cook  10 votes
#7) Don't Stop (Thinking About Tomorrow) by Fleetwood Mac  7 votes
#8) Here's to the Night by Eve 6  6 votes
#9) Pomp and Circumstance  5 votes
#10) I Hope You Dance by Leann Womack 5 votes
#11) Photograph by Nickelback  4 votes
#12) What About Now by Daughtry 2 votes
#13) Extraordinary by Mandy Moore 2 votes
#14) Chris Botti Instrumental 1 vote

Voting Ballots for Songs Due Monday

Just a reminder for those of you who haven't turned in your ballots for songs, please set it in a box in the back table that I will have for you this Monday.  If you do have any last minute songs you want to add, write it on the whiteboard so people will know that it's one of the choices and that they can just write it in before turning in the ballots.  For instrumental, give the title and artist.  Thanks!

Please also consider this message from Jontue:

hi again Seda!  I was wondering if you already had a song in mind for an instrumental, if not i just wanted to suggest the song "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay but in instrumental.  I just really like that beat, its so uplifting and glorious... i play it every morning when I get up to get me going hehe.  It also had a modern classical sound to it which is nice.. anyway if you want to hear it i found a link on you tube...  it would make a great opening / walk in song.

let me know what you think! thanks.

Number of Pictures...

Wanted to stress to all of you that if you are sending pictures to me for the slideshow please cut it to a minimum.  We have a class of 90 students with only 5-6 minutes for slideshow presentation during pinning ceremony, so I cannot promise you that all of your pictures will be in the slideshow.  It has to be fair for everyone.  This is a big class.  Down the road, during the process of working on this slideshow, when I do see that there are spaces and time for a few more pictures, I will add some in.  So please work with me, it is time consuming and I will have to play a fair game.  Thanks again to those of you who have been very actively involved in all this.  --Seda Pho

What are your top 3 song choices for graduation?
