INFO on PDA's

Hi Everyone:

I just wanted to let those of you who have not purchased a PDA yet (and are tight on cash) know if you check out EBAY, there are several sellers that have the Palm Life Drive (new) and they have many of them for sale for around $239.00 - $280.00. Just do a search for "New Palm Life Drive" and that should bring up the life drives that are for sale.

Good luck.
Melissa

Hi all,
FYI. I purchased my PalmOne LifeDrive at Circuit City 2 days ago here in Stockton -- behind the Malls-- for $288.00 on sale (usually $399.99). I shopped around on Ebay too before settling on Circuit City but realized most were "non-returnable" and no further warranty was offered. That is why I chose to buy mine local so that if anything was to go wrong with it I could take it into Circuit City and have them replace or fix it... It came with a 1 yr manufact. warranty but there is also a 2 yr extended warranty offered by Circuit City for around $40.00 more. Hope this helps.

You can also purchase a 3 year warranty for $40.00 that is offered after you have purchased the item on EBAY. Just another option ...

for those on a really tight budget... I bought a Tungsten T3 like this for $100 bucks http://cgi.ebay.com/Palm-Tungsten-T3-PDA-plus-Wi-Fi-card_W0QQitemZ140072129815QQihZ004QQcategoryZ38331QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

from Ebay, put a 1 gig card in it, paid for a SquareTrade warranty, and have 20+ Skyscape programs on it plus Docs to Go and it's barely put a bleep on my card.

What it will not do... put a bunch of programs on the hard drive or record extensive lectures.

Has anyone bought the extra programs for the PDA? If so, what did you get? I thought that there is suppose to be something on Skyscape that had everything we need but I did not see it.

Yeah there was supposed to be some sort of package deal but I have not found it either.

I believe I have found the package deal that we've all been looking for. It's called Nursing Constellation (86.95). I don't know how to insert a working link so just copy and paste into your browser window. If you scroll down a little ways, it has a list of programs that this includes (RNotes, Nurses Manual of Laboratory & Diagnostic tests, Davis Drug Guide, etc.)

The nursing constellation is a good start, it has a good drug guide and lab book, but that is really all I use out of it, I have not used the rn notes or the other ICD 9 program it comes with........I do have the Tabors Medical encyclopedia from the skyscape site, and it is FANTASTIC, I cannot begin to tell you how often I use it........My personal opinion is get a good drug book, and a good lab book the one with the constellation or the Mosbys lab 8 is also very good, and a definite must is Tabors.

Happy Shopping

I forgot to mention that the other PDA book I use a lot is the Nursing diagnoses book also on skyscape.
